The GHG-CCI project team consists of:

  • GHG-CCI Management Team: The GHG-CCI Science Leader is Michael Buchwitz (IUP, Univ. Bremen). The Project Manager is Hartmut Boesch (Univ. Leicester), who is supported by the Deputy Project Manager Maximilian Reuter (IUP, Univ. Bremen).
  • The Earth Observation Science Team (EOST): Team members are the satellite retrieval experts and the validation experts. The retrieval experts are responsible for generating the satellite GHG data products and the validation experts are responsible for the ground-truthing of the satellite data products.
  • The Climate Research Group (CRG): Team members are representative users of the GHG-CCI satellite derived data products. The GHG-CCI CRG is led by F. Chevallier from LSCE who is also the chair of GHG sub-project of the EU FP7 MACC/MACC-II project. Other users are the European Commission via its Joint Research Centre (EC-JRC, P. Bergamaschi, M. Alexe) focussing on methane as well as TheInversionLab (T. Kaminski, formerly FastOpt, supported by M. Scholze, Lund Univ., Sweden), SRON (S. Houweling, T.T. van Leeuwen), MPI-BGC (J. Marshall), Univ.Edinburgh (P. Palmer, S. Gonzi) and Empa (D. Brunner, G. Kuhlmann).
  • The System Engineering Team (SET): SET provides system engineering expertise for processing the satellite data and also provides expertise on calibration aspects especially for SCIAMACHY. SET is led by G. Lichtenberg, DLR-Oberpfaffenhofen.
